Israel-Hamas conflict: Two evacuated Indian students praise PM Narendra Modi-led govt for launching Operation Ajay

Two Indian students, who were evacuated from war-hit Israel, have appreciated the Indian government for launching 'Operation Ajay'.

The initiative was taken by the Indian government to evacuate stranded Indians from Israel.

Vishesh, who returned from Tel Aviv, told ANI: "I am very happy, and it’s been really scary here. Now we are going home. See you in India. Thanks a lot, Indian government for evacuating us.”

Praising the PM Narendra Modi-led government for the initiative, Harsh, a master’s student in electrical engineering at Tel Aviv University, told the Indian news agency, “We are happy that the Modi government is providing us with support through ‘Operation Ajay.’ My parents were worried due to the situation, but they will be happy to see me home now.”

The first flight carrying 212 Indian people, who were stranded in Israel, arrived in New Delhi on Friday.

Following the arrival of the stranded Indians, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted: "Welcome to the homeland!"

He said: "1st #OperationAjay flight carrying 212 citizens touches down in New Delhi.'

As per a report by BBC News, 1,300 people in Israel have been killed in the attack by militant organisation Hamas.

Hamas-run health ministry has claimed Israel's overnight airstrikes have left 51 people dead and  281 hurt.
