Islamic State's Twitter account run by Bengaluru man: Report

Bengaluru, Dec 12 (IBNS): In a shocking revelation, the Twitter handle of the Iraqi militant group Islamic State (IS), which has taken into hostage about 39 Indian workers, has been found to be operated by an Indian executive working out of Bengaluru, a report by Channel 4 claimed.
The channel claimed Twitter handle @ShamiWitness with over 17,700 followers is the most followed Twitter account by foreign jihadis which is operated by a Bengaluru youth.
 
As the report surfaced, the Bengaluru Police is investigating the matter.
 
The channel said the man's full name has not been disclosed as his life would be in danger.
 
According to the news report, the Bengaluru youth's Facebook page indicates his Islamist ideology, in conversations about Libya and Egyptian uprisings.
