IS leader killed in Egypt

Cairo, Aug 5 (IBNS): The Egyptian military has claimed that a top IS leader has been killed in the country, media reports said.

Abu Duaa al-Ansari was killed along with other militants.

"It said Abu Duaa al-Ansari was killed in a series of air strikes on fighters of the Sinai Province - or Ansar Beit al-Maqdis - group," BBC reported.

The air strikes targeted close to the El-Arish town, which is considered as a jihadist strongholds.

The Egyptian military was quoted as saying by BBC: "The raids left more than 45 terrorists killed, dozens of others injured and several arms caches destroyed."
