IPS officer in Andhra die under mysterious circumstances

Vishakhapatnam, Jun 16 (IBNS): A police officer in Vishakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh died from a bullet injury in his office on Thursday under mysterious circumstances, according to media report.
K Sasikumar, a 2012-batch IPS officer, was posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police at Paderu in Vishakhapatnam district, his second posting after a stint at Allagadda in Kurnool district.
 
The sentry at Sasikumar's office rushed to the officer's chamber on hearing the sound of a bullet being fired. He found the officer covered in blood with his right temple pierced by a bullet, media reported. The officer's service revolver was on a table.
 
According to sources, the police personnel present rushed the officer to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
 
The police has not ruled out the possibility of a suicide, media reported.
