IPS officer Bharati Ghosh files suit in Calcutta HC against ECI
Kolkata, May 20 (IBNS): Questioning her transfer before the West Bengal assembly polls, IPS officer Bharati Ghosh on Friday filed a case in the Calcutta High Court against the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Bharati Ghosh also wrote in her petition why did the ECI keep her under observation during polls, without clearing the reason.
She alleged that after hearing complaints from the opposition parties, the ECI took steps against her, without looking into the allegations.
Before the recently concluded assembly polls, the ECI transferred Ghosh from her posting and she was kept under surveillance during the election.
However, the matter is likely to be heard on June 7.
