New Delhi: A Delhi court sent former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, an accused in the INX Media case, to the custody of Enforcement Directorate (ED) till Oct 24, media reports said.

Chidambaram is already lodged in Tihar jail as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the Congress leader more than a month ago in connection with the same case.

The ED, which is probing the money laundering angle of the case, took Chidambaram in its custody after interrogating him on Wednesday.

Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI on Aug 21 for allegedly committing corruption by facilitating a huge flow of foreign funds to INX media when he was the finance minister. He was sent to Tihar jail on Sept 5.

The CBI has also laid allegations on Chidambaram’s son Karti Chidambaram for receiving huge kickbacks for facilitating the deal.
