Intelligence leak on PM's Kerala visit amid his security threat is serious: Union Minister

| @indiablooms | Apr 22, 2023, at 11:07 pm

Kollam, UNI/IBNS: The leak of the Intelligence report on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kerala is a serious security lapse, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan alleged here on Saturday even as the Kerala police and central agencies began an investigation into a letter threatening a suicide bomb attack on the PM during his upcoming visit to the state on April 24-25.

The leak of the Intelligence ADGP's report to the media was a serious failure, the Union Minister said while responding to newspersons over the leak of the report mentioning security threat to the PM from various anti-national organisations.

Demanding a detailed probe into the incident, the Union Minister asked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to explain the matter and sought action against officials responsible for the intelligence failure.

"It is shameful that there are people in the police administration who cannot even keep the security of the Prime Minister of the country a secret," he alleged.

"The report, which should be treated as top secret, is being circulated on WhatsApp groups. This shows that the Home Department is in a state of collapse."

Recalling the recent Kozhikode train fire incident, he said the state police failed to consider such security lapses in connection with the PM's visit to the State. UNI DS SSP
