Mumbai, Oct 3 (IBNS) Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, who was rushed to Mumbai's JJ Hospital on Friday from the Byculla women's jail after she complained of "uneasiness", might have attempted suicide, media reports said on Saturday.

The reports have quoted the police and doctors attending on Indrani said an investigation is on to ascertain whether she took an overdose of the drugs she was prescribed.

The Dean of JJ Hospital, TP Lahane, said condition of the former media executive  improved overnight, but she is still not out of danger.
Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea was taken to  JJ Hospital from the prison.
Indrani, wife of Star India's former CEO Peter Mukherjee, was brought to the hospital around 2 pm on Friday afternoon after she had consumed some pills.

Her stomach wash has been sent for forensic analysis.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday had  registered a case against three people in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case .

"The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against three private persons under Section 120-B, 364, 302, 307, 328, 201, 202, 203 of IPC and Section 3(25) of Arms Act relating to alleged murder of Ms. Sheena Bora on the request of Maharashtra Government and further notification from Central Government," the CBI said in a statement.

" CBI took over the investigation of the case which was earlier registered by Mumbai Police on the allegations that accused persons hatched a criminal conspiracy to murder Ms. Sheena Bora and in pursuance of the said criminal conspiracy, the accused persons allegedly abducted Ms.Sheena Bora, murdered her and disposed off her body," it said.

The CBI said further investigation into the case will continue.
