Indo-China Border Personnel Meeting

New Delhi, Jan 26 (IBNS) A ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of Indian Republic Day' was conducted at Indian BPM hut in Chushul sector of Eastern Ladakh on Monday.

A PIB release said the delegation from the Indian side was led by Brigadier JKS Virk and while Senior Colonel Fanjun represented the Chinese side.


The ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting commenced by saluting the National Flag of India by both the delegation members. This was followed by the ceremonial address by both delegation leaders which included exchange of greetings, best wishes and reflected the mutual desire for enhancing border defence cooperation. Thereafter, a cultural programme showcasing vibrant Indian culture and traditional grandeur was organised.


"Both the delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment. The delegations parted amidst feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the LAC," the release said.


"Both sides also sought to build on the mutual feeling to uphold agreements and protocol signed between the governments of the two sides to maintain peace and tranquillity along the LAC," it said.
