Indian troops destroy Pakistani posts across LoC, three Pak soldiers killed

| @indiablooms | Dec 26, 2017, at 05:17 pm

New Delhi, Dec 26 (IBNS) : In a reminder of the surgical strike conducted in September 2016,  Indian Army on Monday night reportedly crossed LoC and destroyed a number of Pakistani posts opposite Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch district, killing at least three Pakistani soldiers in Rawalakote area, reports said.

The Indian action in Rukh Chakri sub sector came two days after Saturday's  Pakistani firing in in Keri sector of Rajouri district, in which  four Indian soldiers, including a major, were killed.

The action was necessitated to foil an infiltration bid in Nowshera sector at forward Pakistani posts along the Line of Control opposite Poonch.

India Today reported that  troops, armed with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), crossed the LoC and carried out the attack.

In a report in  Dawn News, the ISI has been quoted as having  confirmed the deaths of three Pakistani soldiers on  December 25 , while maintaining that the soldiers were killed in cross-border shelling.

Dawn News quoted the ISPR as saying that the “unprovoked ceasefire violation,” which led to an exchange of fire between India and Pakistan’s border action forces, was initiated by India.

According to the report: “The shelling occurred at Rukh Chakri sector in Rawlakot and received a strong response from Pakistani forces".
