Indian diaspora members in Sydney organised a car rally to mark the opening of Ram Temple in the north Indian town of Ayodhya on Monday.

The rally was held in the Australian city on Saturday which witnessed the participation of more than 100 cars.

People were seen waving 'Jai Shree Ram' flags during the rally.

In the visuals captured by Indian news agency ANI, cars were seen lined up on the roads and people were dancing and holding flags inscribed with images of Lord Ram.

Hundreds of temples across Australia are expected to host multiple events for the next two days as a part of the Ram Temple opening ceremony in India.

Meanwhile, foreign devotees have started arriving in Ayodhya ahead of the opening which is expected to see the participation of Indian PM Narendra Modi.

Chaitanya Swami, a devotee from New York, told ANI: "I have come from New York, USA. I have come here as the temple of Lord Ram is being built."

Prabhupad Jeevan Das, who arrived from Europe, hopes the January 22 event in Ayodhya will change the lives of people.

Shanak Sanatan Das, a German ascetic, who currently stays in Vrindavan, told ANI: "It feels fantastic to be here in Ayodhya. It has the appearance of a holy dham ahead of the opening of the Ram Temple. When I was here earlier in 1992, this city used to be neglected and lagged on several development parameters and public amenities. However, the aspect that struck me about the city since my arrival here is the development explosion that it has undergone."

Security has beefed up as Ayodhya is gearing up for the major event on January 22.
