#IndiaFightsCorona: Delivered as promised, now your turn, Gautam Gambhir tells Kejriwal

New Delhi/IBNS: Cricketer-turned-Parliamentarian Gautam Gambhir on Friday took to Twitter to continue his virtual spat with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and informed that said he kept his promise of providing a thousand PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) kits for health workers.

Posting a photograph of white rucksacks containing PPE Kits for health workers, the BJP MP, in turn, challenged Kejriwal to fulfil his promises made to the people of Delhi.

"I have DELIVERED as PROMISED! 1000 PPE Kits to LNJP Hospital! Arvind Kejriwal, now it is time for you to deliver on promises made to Delhi! More equipment can be acquired. Do let me know place and details!," he tweeted.

Earlier in a war of words over Twitter, Gambhir had alleged that Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia's "massive ego" didn't allow them to accept his offer of a donation to fight the virus.

In reply, Kejriwal had tweeted that arranging money was not a problem but the availability of PPE Kits.

"Gautam ji, thank u for ur offer. The problem is not of money but availability of PPE kits. We wud be grateful if u cud help us get them from somewhere immediately, Del govt will buy them. Thank u," Kejriwal had tweeted.

Gambhir had later said Kejriwal was contradicting Sisodia's claims of a shortage of funds.

"Arvind ji, first ur Deputy claims shortage of funds. Now u contradict him & say there is shortage of kits Anyway, procured 1000 PPE kits. Please let me know where they can be delivered. Time for talks is over, it is time to ACT. Eagerly waiting for ur response," he had tweeted.

Delhi has presently over 700 COVID-19 positive cases and at least 12 deaths so far. Around 60 per cent of these cases were linked to a religious gathering of Tableeghi Jamaat preachers at a religious event which was held at Alami Markaz Banglewali Masjid in Nizamuddin here.

Several frontline fighters like doctors and health workers are succumbing to the deadly virus across the world in dearth of protective equipment.
