India to donate 5000 metric tonnes of rice to Madagascar as humanitarian aid

Antananarivo: The Indian government has decided to announce 5000 metric tonnes of rice to Madagascar to help the country in its fight against the humanitarian crisis.

The announcement was made when Indian envoy Abhay Kumar met country's PM Christian Ntsay on Thursday.

During the meeting, Kumar and Ntsay reviewed the progress made in bilateral ties between India and Madagascar.

"Recently, India announced donation of 15,000 bicycles to Madagascar on 3rd June 2022 on the occasion of the World Bicycle Day," read a statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Madagascar.
