India rejects Pakistan's allegation regarding attack on Karachi Chinese mission last year

New Delhi, Jan 12 (IBNS): India on Friday rejected Pakistan government's allegations that the country had played a role in the terrorist attack on the Chinese mission in Karachi last year.

India said Pakistan should take credible action against support to terrorism and terror infrastructure in its territories.

"We have seen statements in Pakistani media attributed to the Police chief of Karachi making false allegations against India for the terrorist attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi in November 2018," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.

"We completely reject these fabricated and scurrilous attempts to levy accusations on India. Instead of maliciously pointing fingers at others for such terrorist incidents, Pakistan needs to look inwards and undertake credible action against support to terrorism and terror infrastructure in its territories," he said.

Karachi Police chief makes allegation against India:

India reacted to the development after Additional IG Karachi Dr Amir Shaikh said on Friday that India and its Research and Analysis (RAW) members were involved in the attack.

He was quoted as saying by Geo News: "Terrorists belonging to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were involved in the attack."

He claimed the attack was planned in Afghanistan.

"The attack was planned in Afghanistan," he added.

He said five people have been arrested in relation to the attack.

2018 Karachi Attack:

Pakistani security forces had foiled an attack on Chinese consulate located in Karachi’s upscale Clifton area by killing three terrorists as they tried to enter it. The security forces killed the terrorists.

Two policemen and two civilians were also killed in the incident.
