India clocks 127,510 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours, 2795 deaths

New Delhi: India recorded 127,510 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, marking the lowest daily count in the past two months.

The data released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday showed 2,795 people died due to the disease.

It is a significanty low figure after clocking over 4000 deaths for several days in the past few days.

The death toll due to the virus now stands at 3,31,895.

India has clocked 2,81,75,044 COVID-19 cases so far.

In the past 24 hours, 2,55,287 people have recovered from the disease.

India is battling a strong second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this wave, people were seen struggling for hospital beds, oxygen and even the increase in deaths left crematoriums and burial grounds overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, weekly positivity rate currently pegged at 8.64 per cent.

Daily positivity rate dipped to 6.62 per cent, less than 10 per cent for eight consecutive days, the Ministry added.
