In dhoti-kurta, PM Modi greets jubilant BJP workers after Bengal win
New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday surprised party workers by arriving at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in the national capital dressed in traditional Bengali attire, as the party celebrated its maiden victory in West Bengal.
Modi greeted supporters while the BJP’s Bengal campaign song “Paltano Dorkar” played in the background.

Earlier, in a post on X, the Prime Minister thanked party workers for what he described as a historic win in a state the BJP had never governed before.
“Without the tireless efforts and struggles of countless workers across generations, this historic victory for the BJP in West Bengal would not have been possible. I salute each and every one of them,” Modi wrote.

He added, “The Lotus blooms in West Bengal! The 2026 Assembly election will remain unforgettable. The power of the people and the BJP’s politics of good governance have emerged victorious. I bow to every person in West Bengal.”
“The people have given the BJP an unprecedented mandate. We will do everything possible to fulfil their aspirations and build a government that ensures opportunities and dignity for all,” he said.
