I want Narendra Modi to continue as India’s Prime Minister: S M Krishna

| @indiablooms | Mar 11, 2019, at 05:29 pm

Bengaluru, Mar 11 (UNI) Former External Affairs minister and BJP leader S M Krishna strongly advocated continuation of Narendra Modi as India’s Prime Minister and said he would actively campaign for the victory of BJP candidates in the coming Lok Sabha elections from Karnataka.

The veteran leader said here on Monday that he felt that Modi should continue as the prime minister and to strengthen his hands BJP should win more seats in Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters after a BJP delegation led by former deputy chief minister R Ashok, which invited Mr Krishna to lead the party’s campaign in Karnataka, he said he would work towards helping BJP gain more seats from Karnataka and support Modi become prime minister once again, as he felt this was important.
‘’To make sure BJP gain more seats I will tour the state in support of our party candidates,’’ he said.

Krishna said BJP was on strong pedestal to retain all the three seats in Bengaluru city that it had won in 2014. Even if JD(S) president H D Devegowda, as reports said, may contest from Bengaluru North, it would not be important as BJP remained strong and individual leaders may not count, he said.

To a question on opposition by Congress cadre and people of Mandya on JD(S) giving ticket to chief minister H D Kumarasamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy, Krishna said any one above 25 years can contest for election.

‘’There is no bar on how many members of Mr Deve Gowda’s family contest in next Lok Sabha Elections. But it will be the voters who will decide the fate of any candidate,’’ he added.
