'I pray to God to save her but...': Bengal Guv CV Ananda Bose slams Mamata Banerjee on molestation charge

Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who cited the molestation charge brought against him by a female staff working at Raj Bhavan, media reports said.

Bose said, "I will never accept this 'Didigiri' on the distinguished office of the Governor."

"I have said a lot of good words about the individual Mamata Banerjee, I stick to that. Mamata Banerjee's politics is dirty. I pray to God to save her but that is a difficult responsibility, even for God," he added.

"I refuse to be cowed down by engineered narratives. If anybody wants some election benefits by maligning me, God Bless them. But they cannot stop my fight against corruption and violence in Bengal," the Governor said in a statement.

The Governor in his press statement said the conspiracy was hatched to prevent him from raising his voice against the irregularities and corruption issues in Bengal including the Sandeshkhali incident.

However, he made it clear that nothing can stop him from standing up for justice.

The ruling Trinamool Congress wasted no time in cashing in on the issue amid their everlasting tussle with the Governor.

Mamata Banerjee, who faced severe criticism over the Sandeshkhali issue where several women alleged sexual abuse by now arrested and suspended TMC strongman Sheikh Shahjahan, slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for remaining silent on the alleged molestation charge brought against Bose.

Modi stayed at Raj Bhavan on a day the allegation against Bose came to light.

The Prime Minister also campaigned for his BJP in West Bengal on the next day.
