I don't blame Allu Arjun, ready to withdraw case: Pushpa 2 stampede victim's husband
Hyderabad/IBNS: The husband of the woman who died in the stampede at the premiere of the movie 'Pushpa 2: The Rise', has said he does not blame Telugu superstar Allu Arjun for the December 4 tragedy and is ready to withdraw the police case filed in the matter.
Bhaskar, whose son is still in a coma and was admitted to hospital, said the actor has been fully supporting his son's treatment.
His son, Shri Tej, is a fan of Allu Arjun and it was on his insistence that the family went to the premiere, Bhskar told NDTV in an exclusive interview on Monday.
The eight-year-old has been in a coma for the last 20 days. He opens his eyes sometimes but does not yet recognise anyone. "We do not know how long the treatment will take," he told NDTV.
The producers of 'Pushpa-2' have extended a financial assistance of Rs. 50 lakh to the family. The cheque was handed over when producer Naveen Yerneni visited Shri Tej on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, tensions mounted on Sunday evening after a group of people, who claimed themselves to be students of Osmania University, barged into the house of southern star Allu Arjun in Hyderabad and damaged it, media reports said.
They reportedly entered the house of the actor during the protest and demanded one crore as compensation to the family of the woman.
According to reports, Allu Arjun was not present in the residence when the attackers entered it.
Following the stampede, Arjun was arrested but later granted four-week interim bail by a Telangana court on the same day.
A case was filed against Arjun, his security team, and theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
