New Delhi, Aug 31 (IBNS) Hardik Patel, the 22-year-old leader who is spearheading an agitation demanding OBC quota for the Patel community has asserted that he is not a supporter of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

"I'm neither Kejriwal's supporter nor do I know him," Hardik Patel told a television channel while in Delhi to hold talks with quota stir leaders, including Gujjars and Jats.

"Kejriwal's blueprint to bring about change in nation was good, but he didn't turn out to be good," Patel said.

He  maintained that the protest is by Patel community members and will not be taking any political support for the same.

"Kejriwal's blueprint to bring about change in nation was good, but he didn't turn out to be good," he added..

Patel has  also said that he will be taking the issue across various quarters of the country. "We have to take this issue all across the country. And, through cooperation of everyone, the issue of reservation has to be explained to every person, society and state. Reservation has set India 35 years behind."

Gujarat witnessed days of violence by protesters after Hardik Patel was briefly detained on August 25 during the community's agitation.

Altogeher ten persons were killed in mob-police clashes and many injured,  prompting authorities to clamp curfew in parts of the city and few other cities of Gujarat.
