Hyderabad: Man assaults lover and her brother with knife

A man attacked his lover and her brother with a knife, inflicting serious injuries in RTC Colony, L B Nagar, within the city on Sunday.

According to the police, the victims have been identified as Sanghavi and her brother Prithvi alias Chintu.

The accused, Sivakumar, had reportedly been in a relationship with Sanghavi and had visited her home to discuss marriage.

However, during their argument, Sivakumar resorted to violence and attacked Sanghavi with a knife, causing her serious injuries.

In the process of defending his sister, Prithvi also sustained severe wounds.

Alert locals managed to apprehend Sivakumar and handed him over to the police.

Both of the seriously injured victims were subsequently admitted to a corporate hospital for medical treatment.

A case has been registered, and the investigation is currently underway, the police added.
