Huge quantity of liquor seized, five arrested

Khagaria/Bhabhua, Jul 21 (UNI) Huge quantity of liquor was seized and five people were arrested in this connection from various places in Khagaria and Kaimur district late last night.

Police said that acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid near Pasraha railway crossing under Pasraha police station area, leading to the recovery of 13 bags of countrymade liquor from a pick-up van.

 

Liquor was being brought from Jharkhand for its delivery in Saurbazar and two smugglers travelling in pick-up van were arrested during the operation in Khagaria district, police added.


According to a report received from Bhabhua, three smugglers were arrested and a huge quantity of foreign liquor was seized from the vehicle they were travelling in. They were being interrogated after their arrest near Mohania police station, police informed.
