Huge cache of arms-ammu of GNLA recovered in Meghalaya

Guwahati, Oct 2 (IBNS): Meghalaya police on Monday recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from Dosorge forest area in South Garo Hills district, which were buried underground by banned outfit Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), officials said.

South Garo Hills district Superintendent of Police Abraham T Sangma said that, the South Garo Hills police with Commandos conducted an operation at Dosorge forest area near Chipigittim following inputs from a militant of the outfit, who was arrested on September 29 last.

“The arrested militant, identified as Bande Ch Marak alias Border, revealed during interrogation that the outfit group has buried huge cache of arms and ammunition at the remote forest area and we have immediately launched operation at the area,” the top police official said.

The security personnel have recovered one AK-56 rifle with a magazine, one SLR rifle with one magazine, 76 rounds AK ammunition, 13 rounds SLR ammunition, which were buried underground.
