Bengaluru, Sept 7 (IBNS) Tracking down the hoax caller who delayed departure of three international flights, Bengaluru police have arrested a techie, who had had killed his wife and was having an affair with a married woman, reports said.

Thirtythree-year-old MG Gokul is said to be the one who made hoax calls of bomb threat to Bengaluru and Delhi airports on Saturday. As it turned out, the man was also involved in a more sordid saga of crime.

Gokul, who was arrested on Monday, was having an affair with a married woman. He stole her husband’s passport, brought a SIM card in her husband's name, created a Facebook page in the husband's name and showed him as an ISIS follower hoping that it will attract the attention of the Cyber Cell Police.

He also allegedly made a call demanding Rs 10 crore ransom on behalf of terror group ISIS.

When that didn't happen, he made a call to Bengaluru Airport. But while no one answered there, he called at the Delhi airport and said there was a threat to 3 flights. Later, he called Bengaluru Airport and issued threat to another 3 flights through WhatsApp messages.
