His ego bigger than Bihar's need : PM Modi's jibe at CM Nitish Kumar

Banka, Bihar, Oct 2 (IBNS) Hitting out at Nitish Kumar for refusing the Rs. 1.65 crore special central package for Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Chief Minister found his "ego" bigger than the state's need.

I cannot trust the current government in Bihar. They are so arrogant that they return what I send for the state.
He (Nitish Kumar)  returned the special package given to Bihar...his ego is bigger than people's needs", Modi said while addressing a huge election rally at Banka.

The Prime Minister, who all through played on development plank, obviously latched on the special package issue , which he said, was meant to change the face of Bihar, from where people have to migrate elsewhere for livelyhood. He  poured scorn over the state's present rulers, accusing them of perpetuating backwardness and rejecting a helping hand that his BJP government at the centre had extended.

Modi, who was here on his first election campaign in the state after the poll dates were announced, said the package was not a favour, but "your right."

"India cannot advance without Bihar's progress.Sons and daughters of Bihar have to leave their parents and look for employment elsewhere. I want to change this," he said.

He further said, "Bihar will celebrate two Diwalis this year, one on the counting day and the other on Diwali," he said exuding confidence that his party is going to come to power.

"I appeal to the youth who have taken to the gun for Naxalism - the bullet brings only destruction. The ballot brings development," Modi said.

"I want to assure you that once you trust us, I will stand by your side always. No one will be able to stop Bihar's progress," he said.
