High alert sounded at airports after threat letter

New Delhi, Oct 24 (IBNS): Following an anonymous threat letter to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) with warning of flights being targeted, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Kochi airports have been put on high alert.
Strict security measures are being taken at the Cochin International Airport in Kerala. 
 
The threat letter was received by Director of the Airport Authority of India at Kolkata airport.
 
Sources said the letter reportedly claimed that a flight on Friday night from Ahmedabad to Kolkata and the early morning flight from Kochi to Mumbai will be targeted.
 
The source of the letter could not be traced. The matter is being investigated now.
 
A high-level meeting of airport officials and security experts was also convened to review the security arrangements of the airport.
 
All security measured were stepped up and the bomb disposal squad experts were pressed into action at the airport venue.
