Hardik Patel asks Congress to clear stand on Patidar reservation

Gandhinagar, Oct 28 (IBNS): Giving an ultimatum to the Congress, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel asked the opposition party in Gujarat to clear their stand on the constitutional reservation of the Patidars, ahead of the assembly election in the state.

Patel took to Twitter to send an ultimatum to the Congress and he said, 3/11/2017तक कोंग्रेस पाटीदार को संवैधानिक आरक्षण कैसे देंगी,उस मुद्दे पर अपना स्टेण्ड क्लीयर कर दे नहीं तो अमित शाह जैसा मामला सूरत में होगा" which loosely translates to "Congress must clear their stand on the constitutional reservation of Patidars and also state how they will bring the reservation (if they come to power) by 3/11/2017 or else will face incidents in Surat similar to what happened in the rally of Amit Shah".

Patel, who is leading the fight against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the demands of reservations of the Patidars, had ransacked the furniture in the rally of Amit Shah once.

The Visnagar Session Court on Wednesday had issued a non-bailable warrant against Hardik and Lalji Patel for allegedly vandalising BJP legislator Rishikesh Patel’s office during a rally in 2015.

The warrant was issued by the court on the day when the Election Commission announced Gujarat assembly election schedule.

Patel, however, was granted bail on a Rs 5000 bond after he appeared in a local court in Gujarat’s Visnagar on Thursday.

The poll in the state will be conducted in two phases, on December 9 and 14.
