Hardcore NDFB(S) ultra killed in Assam encounter

Guwahati, Apr 20 (IBNS) : A hardcore militant of NDFB(S) was killed in an encounter with security forces in Assam's Sonitpur district on Monday, officials said.

Acting on a tip-off, troops of army and police had jointly launched operation at remote Bogijuli area under Chariduar police station along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in which a hardcore militant belonging to NDFB(S) was killed during gun fight.

The slain militant was identified as Engarlang and one 7.62mm pistol with magazine, four rounds live ammunition, one motorcycle, two mobile phone sets along with eight SIM cards and some cash were recovered by security personnel from the encounter spot.

Sonitpur district Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parasar said that, the slain militant hailing from Udalguri district was involved in abduction, extortion in Sonitpur district.

On other hand security forces nabbed four cadres of the outfit group from various areas of Kokrajhar district on Sunday.
