Hardcore NDFB(S) militant nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, Jan 9 (IBNS) : Security forces apprehended a hardcore militant of NDFB(S) from Assam's Chirang district on Sunday evening, police said on Monday.

Based on a information  regarding movement of NDFB(S) extremist cadres in the general area of Shantipur under Runikhata police station, Chirang Police and 7th SikhLi army conducted a raid  at Shanthipur-Udalguri road near Shimlabagan and one suspected youth was apprehanded along with one 9mm Pistol, one magazine and 4 rounds of ammunition.

Chirang district SP Shankar Raimedhi said that, on interrogation the youth identified himself as Dhananjay Boro alias B.Dahal Thungri (32).

"He confessed that he is a  trained NDFB S cadre of 38th batch. After training he had been operating in Baksa district. He was on the run after anti-militancy operation was intensified," the top police official said.

Further interrogation is on to find out other details of his connections..
