Hardcore NDFB(S) killed in Assam encounter

Guwahati, June 10 (IBNS): A hardcore militant of NDFB(S) was killed in an encounter with security forces in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Wednesday, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police and troops of 7th Jat Regiment launched an operation at Parbatjhora area near Kajigaon in the BTAD district on Wednesday morning.

"The militants had started fire upon the troops and bullets were exchanged, in which a militant killed on spot and others of the group had managed to flee from the area, " a top police official said.

The deceased militant was identified as B Laoder.

Security forces recovered one 7.65mm pistol, two magazines, two hand grenades, eight rounds live ammunition and other war like stores in possession from him.
