Happy to be proved wrong: Shobhaa De on her Olympics tweet

| | Aug 21, 2016, at 06:47 pm
New Delhi, Aug 21 (IBNS): Writer-activist Shobhaa De, who has been widely criticised for her tweets on India's initial performance in Rio Olympics, has said she is happy to be proved wrong.

Speaking to NDTV, De said she'd tweeted out of panic and was happy to be proved wrong.

She further clarified to the channel that her tweet was against the officials and not the athletes.

Shobhaa De had earlier tweeted: "Goal of Team India at the Olympics: Rio jao. Selfies lo. Khaali haat wapas aao. What a waste of money and opportunity."

"Official apathy main reason why we fare so poorly during every Olympics, not just Rio. Difficult for athletes to 'compete' with this hurdle," she had posted.
