Had a good conversation with Mike Pompeo: Jaishankar

Washington, Oct 1 (UNI/IBNS) Visiting the US, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar held a meeting with country's Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and said he had a good discussion with him which focussed on further progress of bilateral relations between the two nations.

"A good conversation with @SecPompeofocusing on the further progress of our bilateral relations. Also discussed important regional and global issues. Welcomed the continuing development of a key partnership," the Indian Minister tweeted.

Dr Jaishankar is also likely to meet US Defence Secretary Mark Esper and the newly appointed US National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien.

In an event organised by the Carnegie Endowment for International Relationship think-tank, External Affairs Minister said that most of the trade disputes (with the US) are "resolvable in the near term". 

PM Narendra Modi recently concluded his US visit and returned to India.

During the trip, he attended the UN General Assembly meet and even met US President Donald Trump several times.

Modi also addressed the 'Howdy, Modi!' event in Houston which was attended by Trump.
