Guwahati : Engineering students allegedly vandalise wedding function

Guwahati, Feb 21 (IBNS): Guwahati City Police detained nine students of an engineering college in Assam allegedly for vandalising a site where a marriage function was taking place, according to reports on Wednesday.

It has been reported that a group of drunk students from Assam Engineering College in Guwahati allegedly vandalized a marriage function and also physically assaulted some people, including women, who were present at the function.

The incident took place at Sundarbori area near Jalukbari, on the outskirts of Guwahati, around 1 am.

According to some present at the function, the students carried  hockey sticks, wooden sticks and other weapons and vandalised the wedding site.

Reportedly, the engineering students had a fight with a truck driver on Tuesday evening and reached the wedding function in search of the truck driver.
