Gurdaspur Lok Sabha bypoll: Congress' Sunil Jakhar wins by huge margin

Gurdaspur, Oct 15 (IBNS): Congress candidate Sunil Jakhar emerged as the winner of the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha bypoll as counting ended on Sunday.

Jakhar, who is the Congress' chief in Punjab, won the bypolls by a margin of 1.9 lakh votes.

The election witnessed a fight amongst Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Congress emerged as the winner by a huge margin even as the seat has been a stronghold of the BJP.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh congratulated Jakhar on his massive win.
