Gunfight rages in Kashmir's Shopian
Srinagar/UNI: A gunbattle erupted between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday, Police said.
They said the encounter erupted at Baskuchan during a cordon and a search operation in the area following an input about the presence of militants.
"As the joint team of forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight," police said.
Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, they added.
