Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar okays West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (Repealing) Bill, 2019

Kolkata, Nov 13 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has given his consent to the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (Repealing) Bill, 2019.
This Bill seeks that a large number of vacancies need to be filled up for non-Public Service Commission posts in the state government establishments within a short period of time in the public interest and in the absence of proper infrastructure and resources it would not be possible for the government to process with the huge recruitment.

The Bill was introduced and subsequently passed in view of the above as it was felt necessary to revive the erstwhile West Bengal Staff Selection Commission established under the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission Act, 2011 which was subsequently repealed by the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (Repealing) Act, 2017, in order to ensure effective implementation of the provisions of the said Act.
