Gold ornaments stolen from house of a merchant

Puducherry, Jun 28 (UNI) Gold ornaments were stolen from the house of a merchant at Pudu Saram, here, police said on Friday.

 

D Nagar police registered a case and are on the look out for miscreants, who had stolen the ornaments.

According to police, Rajan (47) of Pudu Saram was admitted to the Jipmer hospital for Kidney stone treatment and was discharged on June 24. On 25th June, he went to a temple to worship and entered his 'Pooja Room' in house to keep the “prasadam” from the temple.Then he found that a silver lamp inside the pooja room was missing.

Rajan immediately checked his ornaments and found that 15 sovereigns of gold ornaments,1.5 kilograms of silver and Rs 5000 in cash were stolen from the house and lodged a complaint with the D Nagar police station.
