Goa: Police arrest local for allegedly raping British tourist

Panaji: Goa Police have arrested a person for allegedly raping a British tourist near Arambol beach in North Goa. The assault allegedly took place right in front of the eyes of the woman's partner when the attacker offered to give her a massage. 

The incident occurred at the famous Sweet Lake.

A senior police officer told PTI news agency the accused Joel Vincent D’Souza, a local resident, allegedly raped the middle-aged British woman on June 2 when she was relaxing at the beach.

The victim had filed a complaint with the police.
