Patiala, Aug 21 (IBNS): The Patiala Police on Sunday arrested Gau Raksha Dal Chief Satish Kumar for allegedly thrashing people in the name of cow protection.

Kumar has been booked on charges of abduction among other sections.

He is mainly charged in connection with a social media video which shows his organisation members thrashing people allegedly in the name of "cow protection'.

Kumar will be produced before the local District Magistrate court later in the day.

He had been absconding since he was booked on Aug 8 under Section 377 - Unnatural offences.

This comes after PM Modi slammed the cow vigilantes.

Modi had also asked the states to act against 'fake' cow protectors.
