Frustrated PM alleging caste politics by SP-BSP : BSP chief Mayawati

| @indiablooms | May 10, 2019, at 03:48 pm

Lucknow, May 10 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Friday ridiculed the remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the SP-BSP alliance as a 'casteist party' and termed it as 'frustration' of the Prime Minister knowing about his defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.

When there is nothing to say against the opposition and knowing very well that he is loosing the elections, now the PM was trying to blame the SP-BSP of doing caste politics, which is absurd," she said.

"How can a person do caste politics when he or she himself had faced caste discrimination from birth. As Narendra Modi is not a backward from birth hence he do not know the real picture of the caste discrimination,"
Ms Mayawati said in a press statement here on Friday in reply to the comment of PM made during the three election meetings in UP on Thursday.
She further claimed that had Narendra Modi been a backward by birth then RSS would not have supported him as the PM of the country.

"Everyone knows about the fate of BJP leader Kalyan Singh, who is a backward by birth and how he was thrown out by the RSS," she claimed.

Attacking PM further about the caste discrimination in Gujarat, the BSP president said the recent incident of a Dalit bridegroom being denied to ride a horse shows the real mentality of the people and their caste discrimination. " PM was silent on the matter but always try to attack us on caste politics in UP," she said.

"As the PM has nothing to say now and admitting his loss in the Lok Sabha polls, such statements on caste politics shows the frustration of the leader," Mayawati said.

During his three election meetings in UP on Thursday, PM had hit out at the SP-BSP alliance over their caste politics and had appealed to the voters to shed caste politics for a strong government at the Centre.
