France to move UNSC to blacklist Jaish chief Masood

| @indiablooms | Feb 20, 2019, at 01:19 pm

Paris, Feb 20 (UNI/IBNS) France has decided to move a resolution at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for listing Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar as a “global terrorist”. This is the second time that France will take the lead in getting Azhar listed after a similar attempt along with the US and the UK in 2017 was blocked by China.

This is being seen as a major diplomatic move. According to the sources, the diplomatic adviser to French president Emmanuel Macron, Philippe Etienne, telephoned the UIndian national security adviser Ajit Doval on Tuesday and decided to move a resolution at the NSC for listing Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar as a “global terrorist”.
