Four hardcore militants apprehended in Assam

Guwahati, Feb 25 (IBNS) : The Security forces apprehended four hardcore militants including two of NDFB(S) in Assam on Wednesday, officials said.

According to reports, the Army's Red Horn division and the police had launched an operation at Gossaigaon area in Kokrajhar district and nabbed two militants belonging to the NSLA.

The militants were identified as Anthony Hembrom and Badal Hembrom.

"The security forces have recovered two 9mm pistols and ammunition in possession from them and based on information obtained from the terrorists another 9mm pistol and ammunition were recovered from Udalguri town," a top police official said.

In separate incident, the security forces have nabbed a hardcore cadre of NDFB(S), who was identified as Habel Basumutary, from Kachugaon area and recovered a 7.65mm pistol and several rounds of live ammunition.

On other hand, the police and the army had jointly launched an operation at Asrabari area in Udalguri district and nabbed another NDFB(S) militant identified as Ranaush Tulciary and recovered one pistol in possession from him.
