Former rebel leader killed in Assam

Guwahati, Jan 9 (IBNS): Unidentified gunman killed a former rebel leader in Assam's Dima Hasao district on Friday evening, police said.

The incident took place at Diyungmukh area in the hill district on Friday evening where unidentified gunman killed Maijo Dimasa alias Rajesh Naiding, Assistant general secretary of Dimasa rebel group DHD in front of his house.

"Miscreants killed him in gun point and fled from the area," a top police official said.

Top police and army official rushed to the area and launched operation to nab the miscreants.
