Former deputy mayor among 19 held for attack on police in Maharashtra

Kolhapur, Apr 9 (UNI) Former deputy mayor Kolhapur Muncipal Corporation (KMC) Shama Mulla and 18 others were arrested for attacking on police personnel during a raid a Matka den in Yadavnagar here, police said on Tuesday. 

According to police, on a tip off, a team raided the Matka (gaming) den in Yadavnagar area, run by Salim Mulla, the husband of former deputy mayor Shama Mulla.
They attacked on police and Mr Mulla fled away with a pistol, police said.


Further investigations were underway, police added.
