Foreign minsters of India and Nepal meet on Monday

New Delhi, Sep 12 (IBNS): Nepal's Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat who is currently in India at the invitation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, met her on Monday, according to the media.

The ongoing visit (Sep 11 -13, 2016) of Foreign Minister Dr. Mahat to India is his first visit abroad after assuming office last month.

The visit is part of regular high-level bilateral exchanges between the two countries.

Both the Ministers held wide ranging talks on Monday on issues of mutual interest, and covering the entire gamut of bilateral relations, including the upcoming high-level exchanges between the two countries.

Dr Mahat is on a visit to India prior to the state visit of  Prime Minister of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and his wife Sita Dahal.

On Monday, both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthen and deepen age-old, close and friendly ties in diverse sectors such as trade and mutual investments, defense and security, economic and development partnership, infrastructure develoment, energy and water resources, and forging connectivities to facilitate movement of goods and services, people and ideas.

During his visit, Prime Minister Prachanda would hold talks with the India Prime Minister on Sep 16, call on the Indian President and meet other Indian ministers, the MEA said in a release.
