Flights, rail services hit due to dense fog in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 19 (IBNS): As many as 70 flights were affected, out of which 46 flights were delayed and 24 cancelled, at the Delhi airport on Monday, media reports said.

The national has been encountering dense fog for the last seven days. As a result: the movements of train were also hit owing to poor visibility. Over 60 trains were running late while 12 of them had to be rescheduled.

According to Met department sources, the overall visibility across Delhi was less than 50 meters.

The minimum temperature on Monday morning was recorded at 10.2 degrees Celsius, a few notches higher than that of last week’s average of 8 degrees.

Reports said cities like Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Faridabad were also impacted due to severe fog. The Met office also suggested dense fog with a minimum and maximum temperature of 8 degrees and 21 degrees Celsius respectively for Tuesday.
