Bangalore, Feb 23 (IBNS): A massive fire gutted around 300 vehicles at the parking lot of the venue of the air show in Bengaluru on Friday, officials said.

Officials were quoted as saying by NDTV that the cause of the fire could be a lit cigarette that was disposed on the grass in the open field.

As per video footage going viral on the social media, thick smoke could be seen in the sky near the Yelahanka air base in north Bengaluru.

Several cars were parked at the spot for the  Aero India 2019 event.

The fire was later brought under control.

No casualty has been reported so far.

The five-day airshow started on Wednesday.

It will end on Sunday.
