Fire engulfs Kashmere Gate Metro police station, destroys numerous documents

New Delhi: A massive fire erupted in the Kashmere Gate Metro police station in Delhi last night, destroying the structure and documents stored in the facility, media reported.

The Delhi Fire Department was informed about the fire at around 12:45 am, reported NDTV.

At least 12 fire brigade vehicles were pressed into action to tackle the blaze.

Soon the fire spread to the entire police station, burning furniture, cupboards and files, the report said.

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Metro is also present in the Kashmere Gate Metro police station.

So far, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries, police said, the report added.

However, the fire has ruined the facility and destroyed documents and other crucial items stored within the station.

The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet, police added.
