Fire breaks out in Mumbai BPCL plant; no casualty reported

Mumbai/UNI: A minor fire broke out in the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited(BPCL) plant in Chembur area here on Tuesday.

"It was a minor fire. No one was injured," an official said, adding that the BPCL's staff immediately extinguished the blaze.

According to fire officials, the incident occurred around 1240 hrs in an air compressor at the main gate of the BPCL plant and thick black smoke was seen emanating from the plant.

"All agencies concerned, including the Mumbai Fire Brigade, were mobilised soon after getting information about the blaze," he told.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
