Fire breaks out in Kolkata jute mill

Kolkata, Jan 30 (IBNS): A major fire broke out at a jute mill in north Kolkata's Narkeldanga Main Road area on Tuesday afternoon, reports said.

According to reports, the fire was first noticed at around 2:30 pm. inside the jute mill-cum-godown and it spread quickly to other parts as several inflammable objects were stored there.

As many as 7 fire tenders, Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel and local police rushed to the scene and firefighters are currently tackling the blaze.

No casualty has been reported so far in the incident.

Exact reason behind the fire is still unknown.
